Learner Uni Family

It’s taken a while but I’ve finally gathered a decent collection of learner uni’s to use in schools and community unicycling sessions. I think it’s important to offer a range of wheel sizes when running unicycle sessions, not just to cater for the wide range of ages (from 5 upwards) of people learning but also to give people who can ride the opportunity to try out different size uni’s they might not otherwise. DeFender of Rain and Cold

It takes some convincing to head out for an off road ride in cold Winter rain but after the first few minutes you realize it’s well and truly worth it. Riding off road in the rain is great fun, equal parts peaceful and crazy slippery. Plus how else can you test if a new mudguard works? With the Topeak Defender M2 fitted to my KH 29’er I headed out into the forest, onto a loop I know from experience puddles up well. (more…)

Camelbak M.U.L.E

I copped a lot of flak from fellow MTB riders when I started using the original Camelbak in the early 1990’s.  I drink a lot while riding – no water, me engine no go – and though the original Camelbak was a fairly lame looking thing it was a hands free hydration godsend and the start of a great solution to the problem of carrying enough water, food and stuff on longer rides. I loved my original Camelbak so much I’ve kept it all those years! (more…)
