Now that I stop and think about it I’m probably fairly superstitious, or maybe I just don’t like change all that much. Whatever the reason, I like to unicycle wearing the same pair of socks. Not just any socks, but my favourite socks – Salsa’s ‘Ride and Smile’ Muerto’s. (more…)

Five Ten Karver Review

My Five Ten Sam Hills are awesome shoes, but for whatever reason my Schlumpf hub gear shifting technique has always been ankle bone based. I’m changing gears a lot more on the 24″ GUni, like a two speed dune buggy, and in the off road environment it’s often with minimal advance warning so to speak. The gear shifts need to be on tap – comfortable, fast, clean and reliable. The ankle bone method isn’t comfy at times and due to the relatively small contact area mis-shifts can occur. (more…)

After an unexpected GUni crash on Reed Track the other day due to a stick getting picked up by the Duro tread and jammed against the short Magura crossover line, I had a dig around in the spare parts box and found an old length of line – a bit out of shape but good enough and most importantly longer.
