Had fun down at the local reserve today with Didj the uni dog. Didj is a 6 month old kelpie cross with LOTS of energy. We’ve already been out on many walks, uni rides and MTB rides but today was the first day on the 36’er which Didj seemed to get excited about – maybe it’s the extra height, dunno! Didj runs alongside the 29’er no problem but went a little crazy beside the 36’er. (more…)
Had a bunch of fun this afternoon at the weekly uni get together, riding the hills near the skate park. Frankie started the afternoon saying his uni wasn’t good on dirt downhills, an hour later he was making it to the bottom of the descent on both the 16″ and 12″, no problem. Great stuff! (more…)
The 6 hour Cyclic Navigator again proved to be an epic uni challenge. Storms in the 24 hours leading up the event combined with freezing wind and rain on the day turned trails into streams and made for super slippery testing conditions anywhere off the dirt roads. (more…)
I had a few things to do in Woodend so took the 24 GUni along to ride the local Wombat MTB Trail. Good timing too as today was the last opportunity to squeeze in a longer ride before the Cyclic Navigator on the weekend, and the weather today was much hotter than the excellent cool conditions forecast for the day of the event. If there’s one thing that will derail the upcoming Cyclic Navigator event it will probably be the record heat that the lower half of Australia has been enduring this Spring. Bush fire risk could postpone the event which is fair enough, but it’s more if the event goes ahead in +30 degrees celcius that will bother me.
