It’s been a great couple of weeks in Melrose, South Australia. The trails and the setting alone make Melrose a bucket list destination for mountain bikers, but much more than that getting to know the folk that call this little town at the base of Mt Remarkable their home, and seeing the central role bikes play in the community has been a terrific experience.

Bartagunyah is a ~2000 acre property on the outskirts of Melrose SA and in addition to sheep, kangaroos and vineyards is home to a bunch of arguably lesser known MTB trails, including one of the local’s favorite MTB rides – the Whiskey Trail. (more…)
With the sun shining and the local trails almost back to being dry, but rain forecast for the next couple of days there was an opportunity to good to miss today to check out the new ‘Woodbrook’ MTB trail made up of a mix of old, new and brand spanking new trails. I’ve had a touch of the flu but figured if it got worse, well with the rain I probably wouldn’t be riding much in the next couple of days anyway! (more…)

Watched The Matrix for the n’th time the other night, always enjoy it! Being out on the trails in the late afternoon is pretty specc’y, like living in the dream world of The Matrix… and like a virus those trails just seem to keep on spreading! (more…)
