36 XC Night Riding
With the unusually hot summer here in Victoria I’ve been riding more in the evenings and nights, which has meant upgrading my lights to something a little more suitable for uni and safer to ride by. (more…)

Over 6 months of wear and tear the Kris Holm Gloves continue to do the job! (more…)
The carbon fibre seat base I ordered from the guys at Unicyle.com NZ arrived and looks great! Super light, much thicker than I expected and super rigid. The plan is to use the carbon fibre seat base as part of my XC handlebars for 36″s. (more…)
Another favorite ride of mine is the Trailer Track Loop – a fun mix of dirt road, fire trails, bush and single track, climbs and descents in the Wombat Forest, Victoria Australia. Like a lot of things related to unicycling, the hardest part of messing with Magura brakes is the decision to finally give it a go. Cutting, fitting and bleeding hydraulic brakes is really no big deal – a jump mount on a 36 is far more scarey! (more…)

I haven’t had my 29 GUNI long but already it seems 29 is not a great wheel size for off road GUNI. The longer cranks required to handle 1:1.5 make 1:1 not especially useful, and 1:1.5 doesn’t seem to suit much terrain either. I’m quite surprised to be honest, but the shifting is sweet and I’m glad I’ve become familiar with GUNI on a 29 which is generally no drama when it comes to falling off – it feels so small compared to a 36, almost like a 24.
