Wombat Off Peak

The Wombat MTB Trail on the outskirts of Woodend gets pretty busy during the weekends. I’ve been wanting to get back there since the last Vanilla Slice Quest so thought it would be best to go Wombat Off Peak and headed over late afternoon. During the week you pretty much have the place to yourself. (more…)

Autumn Mojo

The changes I made to the bike the other day felt great again during today’s ride so I reckon I’m onto something. Just goes to show don’t mess with the groove as even a few mm in the wrong direction can mess things up. With my weight a little further back again it’s probably a good time to recheck the sag in the rear shock, especially since the weight I usually carry in the backpack has increased too. The Chute

The Clock2Clock Challenge was held at Woodend last weekend. Prior to the event there were regular rides of the course creating some buzz online about… The Chute. Julien and I headed to Woodend the other day, the general idea being to eat some of Bourkies Vanilla Slice, ride some or all of the Clock2Clock course, and experience The Chute for ourselves. (more…)

Celebrate the Ride

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been in the groove, I think mainly due to a crash I had back in mid January where I smacked the left side of my head and left shoulder heavily into a tree. My neck has felt like a messed up pile of square ball bearings ever since and my head progressively duller, foggier, achier, slower. Heart says ride but the only thing high on the body’s To Do list is lying down with eyes closed. (more…)
