The changes I made to the bike the other day felt great again during today’s ride so I reckon I’m onto something. Just goes to show don’t mess with the groove as even a few mm in the wrong direction can mess things up. With my weight a little further back again it’s probably a good time to recheck the sag in the rear shock, especially since the weight I usually carry in the backpack has increased too. As it was the Mojo did feel super plush today and while it might not be great riding technique it can be a lot of fun to roll your weight back on the rear of the saddle and go along for the ride, cruiser style.
The Autumn weather was a spec’y sunny blue sky with a max of 17 degrees — this time of year is great for getting out there and having an adventure or two. I headed across town on the Mojo, up and along Poverty Gully, to the top of The Monk, down to Spring Gully and then back. It’s a fun loop, a mix of a few climbs interspersed with lots of single track cruising.
All up, fun ride. Great to have the groove back!
