Five Ten Karvers sure take ages to dry out. To help speed up the process I’ve had them sitting on the roof of the house since the Chinamans Point ride the other day, toasting away in the spring sun.

In the mean time I thought I’d use my Five Ten Sam Hills, which I’ve had since July 2008 – over two years, gone just like that!  On closer inspection, sadly it looks like the Sam Hills are not long for this world. While Karvers are my choice for GUni rides, for single speeder rides I much prefer the feel and lesser bulk of the Sam Hills.

It hasn’t been an easy life lately for the Sam Hills. Didj the uni dog munched on one a while back and over the last 6 months or so the sole of the Sam Hills looks like they have dissolved/been eaten away on the sides, as well as cracking/splitting beneath the ball of my feet. Not that I am complaining in anyway  – I can’t recall any shoe I’ve used regularly and lasted this long.
