The ZEE derailluer looks to be a satisfactory alternative to the XTR one I busted a while back. (more…)

Just over a year ago Chris Akrigg snapped his femur when a trials move on a cliff didn't go to plan. He's back and riding better than ever. Check out…
Like many MTB heads I’ve often drooled over XTR parts but rarely have been able to afford and/or justify going there. So it was with a fair level of excitement I fitted a few XTR bits and pieces to the Mojo HD late last year. At the time the XTR derailleur was the only way to get your hands on Shadow Plus, which has since trickled down through Shimano’s 2013 range with SRAM also releasing its own version. It’s a huge drivetrain improvement IMO, great stuff! (more…)
Hehe that is some mouthful… the short version is there’s a new fork on the front of the Mojo HD. The 2008/09 36 Float has been retired and replaced by a FOX 2013 34 Float 26 160 FIT CTD. Luckily the new fork is easier to setup than it is to say! (more…)
I upgraded the rear shifter from XT to XTR a couple of weeks back now and am loving it! The difference between the two shifters is surprising. Compared to the light and definite action of the XTR shifter, the action of the XT shifter is like pushing the shift lever through sludge with indistinct shift clicks along the way. (more…)
Got the new 2012 XT brakes fitted on the Mojo HD, have been looking forward to these! HUGE increase in braking power compared to the old SLX brakes (of a couple of years ago), the 2012 XT brakes definitely require a gentle one finger touch else your face will be scraping along the trail before you know it. Dropped down from a 180mm rotor to 160mm on the front. 160mm on the rear. (more…)
A new year, a fresh start. Time to get my act together and fit some long awaited goodies to the Mojo HD. Plan was to fit an XTR Shadow Plus…
I’ve been super keen to try out an XTR Shadow Plus derailleur – for improved shifting performance and significantly reduced noise (via the derailleur’s beefy chain management system). (more…)
