I’ve spent the last few rides trying out a few things, working away on getting a setup on the 27.5 MUni that suits the nearby trails. Quite a different process to an MTB!
Findings so far:
- The Fusion One saddle is a HUGE improvement over the Freeride saddle. It’s bike saddle comfortable, even without padded shorts. That’s a crotch comfort revelation in the unicycle world.
- The 150/127 Boundary cranks suit me better all round on the 27.5″ for now versus the 137/117 cranks. Happy to lose a little spin and speed, to gain leverage. Plus I can’t really imagine many situations where I’d want to run a 117 crank on a 27.5 MUni running a +3″ tire.
- I really do prefer my own handlebar to the KH one, but mine isn’t compatible with the Fusion One saddle. The KH handlebar is slowly growing on me though, and TBH it’s unlikely I’ll make another handlebar.
I’m not sure what Loki the trail dog makes of it. He loves running behind the MTB, but I guess there is at least more sniffing time behind a MUni.
