After many years of using standard cycling knicks, this year I decided to give bib knicks a go. They have proven to be GREAT for unicycling!
Bib knicks offer greater comfort and support vs regular knicks. There is no constricting elastic around the waist. The shoulder straps prevent the knicks from sliding down, keeping the chamois firmly in place and your junk supported throughout the ride. Bib knicks also prevent your lower back from being exposed.
Better quality knicks often employ compression technology with the claimed benefits including less fatigue, soreness and quicker recovery. Not sure about that, but my legs do feel better with the increased support.
The chamois can make or break any pair of knicks. Seams, cut and thickness in the wrong places can be irritating and painful, especially on long rides. When I find a comfortable chamois I keep a look out for any knicks that use it. The most comfortable I’ve found for my own riding is the Airgel Chamois. It’s pure butt bliss!
