Schlumpf Hub Arrives!
My Schlumpf hub arrived today! It’s a 2 speed unicycle hub with 1:1 and 1:1.5 gearing. 1:1.5 for example turns a 29″ uni into a virtual 43″ – crazy stuff! KH36 Afternoon MUNI Cruise, Wombat Forest
I’ve been loving cruising the tracks and trails in the Wombat State Forest on my KH36 – the speed and smooth rolling of the big wheel is a blast off road. It’s amazing the off road terrain you can cover with 125 cranks – I guess the lack of control is offset by the speed!
(more…)Swaby Lane Loop
One of my favorite rides lately is what I call the Swaby Lane loop. It’s great fun on either the 29″ or 36″ wheel, includes a mix of dirt road, fire trails and single track, and can range from a 1 hour ride to as long as you’d like. (more…)
