Historic day! After clearing the MTB track at Bress of signage, bunting etc I stopped at the Harcourt BP service station for a munchie reward and had one of the best steak sandwiches EVER.
Big deal you say? Hell yeah. Awful, rubbery, impossible to swallow steak sandwiches are easy to come by, great ones are like striking gold. This one was freshly made, packed full of the right stuff – tender steak, fried egg, bacon, onion, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sauce. Who cares what else, it tasted great already. Harcourt might be known for its apples and vineyards, but is now also home of the best steak sandwich in Central Victoria 😛
Of course, just like the eternal quest for Vanilla Slice this has everything to do with riding which on the surface is about being fit, having fun, fresh air and all that jazz but some days it’s really just a convenient excuse to eat everything in sight before, during and afterwards.
Ride to Eat!
Here’s the Googlemaps link to the BP at Harcourt. The Chiko rolls are pretty good there too.
