Almost ended up in the drink today! The trail drops down into a gully, crossing the top of a small seasonal waterfall. After rain the wet slimey rocks at the top of the ledge can get MEGA slippery and while it’s only a very short section the trail runs within a few inches of the edge. You generally cross it at a reasonable speed to help make it up on the climb and obstacles on the other side. I came in too fast for the damp conditions, slightly offline and was also caught off guard by the large amount of water still pooled above the falls. I ended up needing to turn away from the edge, against the camber of the wet slimey rocks, not a great plan. The front wheel slipped sideways towards the edge. Could’ve easily ended up doing my own impersonation of a water fall as the front slid towards the edge, but luckily it grabbed on a small lip in the rock face, then on a clump of moss … PHEW.
