Prolonged hot, dry and windy Summer weather combined with dry electric storms have sparked wildfires across Tassie. Down in southern Tasmania the Gell River fire continues to grow, now at over 24,000 hectares, creeping directly towards Mt Field and Maydena. Just south of Hobart the Riveaux Road fire is wreaking havoc in the Huon Valley. It’s been day after day of thick smoke and strong winds. The potential is there for a massive natural disaster across the bottom half of the state and with no rain on the horizon all you can do is hope 😐

The header pic is the view from our house out across Hobart at 8.30am… Come on rain!
