At around 90 minutes the V-Line train trip down to Melbourne is a perfect opportunity to daydream while the bush blurs by the window. It’s also an opportunity to look for new tracks on either side of the line. I’ve spied a couple of interesting goodies from the train lately so headed out in the van today with the Mojo on board to check em out.
What I found turned out to be a whoopass ride on a new trail, new to me anyway. Lots of up and down crossing steep gullies heading out, all the while progressively climbing, followed by a great climb/descent loop including one of the fastest single track descent sections I’ve come across so far in Central Vic (had to ride the loop a few times today!), finishing off with the blast home back again through the steep gullies but carrying a bunch more speed due to the overall nett descent. Great find, and lots more trail to explore out that way.
The HD really hunkered down and felt GREAT, with none of the 160mm travel going to waste. Up and down it’s a frickin’ jet, love it.
I had a break at a dam I often notice from the train… and took a photo as the V-Line train zipped past. I know what side of the glass windows I’d rather be on 🙂
Okay if you got this far down the page you have probably guessed that I had some time on my hands as I sat and waited for the train to pass the dam! I spent the time watching insects, birds and enjoying the reflections. Here are a couple of my favorite HD reflections:
