Over the Edge at Mel...

It’s just about time to say goodbye to Melrose again and head back to Central Victoria. It’s been a great few weeks – sweet trails set in a spectacular Oz landscape, a cool new bike from Ibis to roll on, and an epic Fat Tyre Festival. But the heart of this MTB wonderland are...

2014 RockShox Pike 2...

Fitting the 2014 RockShox Pike 27.5 fork on the Ibis Mojo HDR yesterday I was kinda reminded of my first suspension fork – the RockShox Mag 20. With noodle-like 25.4mm stanchions and theoretical 48mm of travel, back in 1992 it was state of the art. Compared to modern forks it...

Ibis Mojo HDR 650b vs Mojo HDR 26″

Who could resist the _perfect_ opportunity the Ibis Mojo HDR presents to evaluate 650b and 26″ back to back on the same bike setup you know and love? Not me! But I would never have guessed that a few days later I’d be left completely gobsmacked by how things turned out…   I’d been enjoying buzzing around the trails at Melrose South Australia on my 26″ Mojo HDR in stealth mode when it came time to shoot the HDR 26″ > 650b conversion video. 650b stuff is hard to come ATM by but Rich from Over the Edge kindly offered the wheels and forks off his recently completed Mojo SL-R 650b conversion. The plan...

Ibis Mojo HDR 650b Conversion: Like it both ways!

While the Ibis Mojo HDR features the molding technology found in the SL-R (strength of the HD but lighter!) and ISCG compatibility, its neatest trick is its ability to convert from the renowned 160mm 26″ beast that the HD is to a 130mm travel 650b bike with low bottom bracket and a ~67.1 head angle. Ibis have built a new rear triangle with clearance suited for 650b wheels with 27.5″ tires up 2.35″ in size. Got your 650b wheels and fork ready? Just add in a new set of limbo chips and 130mm travel rear shock and within 10 minutes you’ve got yourself one very capable Ibis Mojo HDR 650b! Ibis Mojo HDR 650b Conversion:...

Ibis Mojo riders rejoice! Ibis have added ISCG 05 compatible mounts to the Mojo HDR (you can check out the HDR’s ISCG 05 implementation in detail here). I had been running a modified Ibis-specific MRP guide but now with the freedom to run any ISCG guide have swapped over to the E...

Ibis Mojo HDR ISCG M...

One of the cool new features on the Ibis Mojo HDR is ISCG 05 compatibility. Mojo riders can now graze freely on the wide range of standard guides! The ISCG implementation on the HDR is pretty schmick too – check out the pics below. The ISCG Mounting Plate interfaces with the bottom...

Ibis Mojo HDR Review

From the original Mojo to the Mojo SL to the Mojo HD and most recently the Mojo SL-R, for both Ibis and mountain bike riders the Mojo has been the gift that keeps on giving. The Mojo’s combination of form and function is the stuff that bike companies dream of. Beautiful to look at and with trend shaping specifications and performance, impressively several years after its release the Mojo HD remains one of the most desired and revered carbon fiber All Mountain bikes -  the genre defined in fact by the original Mojo.   In recent years however the winds of change have been blowing with gusto across the mountain bike scene. 29ers...
